| | | I dont like the AO Safety mask. I went to the local AirGas retailer and ordered a mask(North) and filters(i got just P100, not organic) for 16 bucks. If you get the filters that are P100 + Organic its an extra 10 or so.

Why didn't you like the AO Safety mask?

| | | you may want to expand on the p-100 Organic Vapor carts, and get a p-100 multi gas multi vapor carts as they have a few added protection features.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! |

That one listed comes with a R53HE-P100: R53A Cartridge with P100 Filter: Approved to help protect against Organic Vapors, Chlorine, Hydrogen Chloride, Sulfur Dioxide, Chlorine Dioxide and Solid and Liquid Particulates that may contain oil. Also approved for respiratory protection against Hydrogen Fluoride.

I use an AOSafety mask, as well. I don't find it uncomfortable at all -- and it's nice enough for me. Replacement filters are easily obtained at the local Home Depot. I recall AOSafety makes them in different sizes, if I am correct. They're a bit expensive, however... around $40 dollars.

| | | You know what? Screw the damn mask; the people that worked there are the ones who should have had a mask. I've worn a mask ONCE; when we weren't sure what an old miliary bunker would contain. Turned out to be just a shelter. Imaginations running wild. You ain't so special. You can breathe that air for the two hours you'll be in a location. If it isn't loose, it aint's dangerous. If it wasn't loose before you got there, to hell with it. Abatement surprises me; usually done in places where the fiber wasn't loose to begin with. agreed - to a point though. I recently purchased an AO P100+organic, the whole nine yards because I am asthmatic - mold, mildew and dust are my worst enemies, let alone all of the other things floating around an old building. I didn't wear a mask to a mental hospital one time - and really felt it the next day. My wife is also more willing to let me run wild in cool old places knowing that I have the type of protection the AO offers. I also like its temporary loosening thingy feature -

| | | Around the west coast here in Canada we have it really wet, and once the heating is turned off, there are some really spooky molds to contend with. You can do a few hours of exploring, and end up with a nasty infection the next few days. I defend the use of masks. we also have lots of...."Scrappers", that is people who scavage metals etc. They leave asbestous all over the place, on the floor, everywhere. The people who used to work there delt with undisturbed asbestous, not in this situation.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! |

| | | Yeah Brent, the only reason it was heavy is because it has the P100 WITH! organic filters...it was fine when I popped on the regular P100s...But like buddy said...It's comfortable. I find it only fits a certain shape of face, and if you dont have it, it won't be comfy.
