| | "Haunted" House < on 10/23/2006 6:50 AM >
| | | Just curious on some opinions of my last UE. I was shooting on a Nikon D70s with a 18-70mm Lens. Due to lighting conditions, I found it a little easier to shoot at a high ISO (1600), sacrificing a little bit of clarity. Please. Critique Away. 1. 2. 3. 4.
Thanks for the constructive criticism, it really means a lot.

| | | 1. Like it a lot. Well done. If I'd shot it, I would've tossed the cones out of the frame. That's just me. 2.I'd like to see this shot straight on in front of the house. Face your subject. 3.Again, don't like chair shots. Don't like strange angles either. 4. It's nice, but you might want to think about relocating the house to one of the points on the Golden Ming. Cut your canvas into thirds, vertically and horizontally- the intersecting points are highly instrumental in composition. I'm really feelin' the first shot the most. Keep it up. -mm

| | | I was taking photos with him.. I sometimes try to give some pointers, but I was letting bringer play with his new spiffy camera some more. I had not introduced rule of thirds for composition. Maybe he already knew?

| | | Nice. 1 is my favourite. I'm assuming you shot handheld based on that fact that you shot at an ISO of 1600?

| | | i love #1, the way its level but nothing on the house is it gives you the sense that this place is a wolf away from being blown to the ground, it probably actualy is too they look pretty clear for 1600 too, nice job

| | | As has been said, I really like the first one, though I find the cones distracting. Getting rid of them would have helped the shot alot. Also, if it were just a TAD more tightly cropped, I think it might help. Just my opinion.

| | | Wow! Thanks for the comments, folks! I didn't quite expect such a positive reaction. In hindsight, I agree with the cone theory. I should've moved them. Ah well. Next time for sure Thanks for the great comments. Now I am going to go get a steak knife and start sawing at my ego a bit... I think it grew a little.

| | | Tilted horizons are an aquired taste.... I am speaking of your photo of the chair, the vertical. While some people are not huge fans of tilting the horizon I do it quite often, I think I figured out that I do it when I am bored but it does work for me in certain situations, nice pics! That sepia correction makes all the difference in setting the moods. Also, give your high pass filter in photoshop a try, it sometimes give you nice effects... (it's in the filter section). Anyway, greetings from NY.

| | | I like 2 and 4 from the set. The angle and such on two gives a menacing look to the doorway. Goes along with the "Haunted" title..ha and 4 just looks creepy. if you fiddled with photoshop some you could make these look really nice.
