| | | ummm, theoretically speaking, i would hate to climb that fire escape, at least in broad daylight, or in cold-ass wind. i've heard that it can get quite cold on that roof...windy too. not that i've actually been there, of course. i've never actually been anywhere i'm not supposed to be. nighttime, decent weather? probably would be fun....tiring, but fun. someone told me that's like the biggest outside fire escape in the u.s., or maybe the world. can anyone confirm or refute that?

Do you speak from experience? I talked to a guy at Spiral Diner in FW that climbed 'em. Was that you?
|
Nah, not me. The fellow in the shot is one of the crew prepping the building. I watched those guys take the stairs a couple times; it looked exhausting and extremely freaky.

| | | The weather ain't lookin' so hot for the implosion you guys... Scattered thunderstorms and a high of 57. Even if it is not raining, if there is fog, or the humidity is too high, I don't think they will go through with it. Sunday is looking rather bleak as well. Just a heads up.

I'm in Austin/Temple area on vacation and I doubt that I will get home until Saturday. If they do postpone it, anyone know when it will be rescheduled? I'd like to drive out and see that. Rugrat wants to come to. NV, you gonna do any video or pics?

| | | I remember last implosion in Fort Worth, they delayed it for a few hours because of moisture related problems. My Dad said it was because the humidity would transmit the shockwave and risk breaking windows or some such. However, the Star-Telegram had a little paragraph on the Tower today and it did not say anything about a delay, or cancellation so... hopefully it will go on as scheduled. I will try calling some place official to find out whether it is, or is not.

Oh shoot! I don't have access. I'm sure it was awesome to see even though it was a landmark building being destroyed.
