| | | Hi all, my first post here so please forgive any stupidity. Having said that, once when I was about 15 or so, a few of us at the local swimming pool (a few guys and a few girls) were enticed into actually SWIMMING in a water tower. The hatch on top was unlocked, but getting in was a bit tricky because it was offset from the ladder that went up the dome by a foot or 2. Inside, another ladder ran down the inside diameter of the dome. Made a nice diving platform, although the air at the top was unbearably hot. The tower was about 60% full, with pipes running here and there a couple of feet under the water handy for walkin'. Getting out an hour or so later was even trickier, as getting out a hatch and back onto a ladder while soaking wet and on an angle that would guarantee a quick slide to death wasn't something I relished. And no, we did not pee in it.

| | | Nice shot of yourself. Did you use any harness or rope to as backup ??? Water towers look cool as hell, but the chance of falling and no chance of living from it keep me thinking about how it looks as to trying it

| | | Thanks for all the comments. No, I dont wear safety equipment. If you look at my Avatar, that was on the same tower during the day. I've been making frequent trips up because soon houses will be springing up aside it. The cleared a huge piece of forest and threw the roads and new drains I had a chance to check out.

I wouldn't do that. Read up on the dangers of radio towers.

A swimmer is probably the cleanest thing in there; definitly cleaner than the walls and the foot of disgusting muck left on the bottom when they empty one. Drink up.
