| | | Well, as long as the competition isnt fierce. 1. out of focus 2. centre of attention, the dangling wire thig is somewhat lost in the background. 3. nothing to look at. very "real estate ad" looking 4. a bit too dark, detail lost eyes draw to the object (fan?)to the outside of the image. 5. nicest one of the bunch. fairly good reflections as well, use this one for the contest, I'd have like to seen the shot take from the centre of the at hallway, or else the smokestack centred in an opening of the scaffolding. 6. Detail in the window blown out, but good detail of the ceiling, its a hard shot to pull off.
There ya go.... Submit #5 is my choice. Anyone else have opinions?

| | | thanks for the tips mutt, I can correct some of the things that you mentioned. #1 I intetionally blurred it in editing, so I can use the original #5 The original is from the center of the hallway, I cropped the right side out. #6 I blew out the window detail in purpose. I can remedy this too. I'll post these again with the corrections later.

| | | I'm not sure why you made the modifications you did. I'd like to see the versions with the corrections Mutt mentioned. I think 2, 4 and 5 are the strongest. I'd like to see 2 with a little more contrast, 4 with a little more detail shown (though my screen is pretty dark, maybe there is more detail for others...) and the full view for 5. Maybe keep the same height for 5, but add the original width for a panoramic style shot.

| | | The fifth is the strongest in my opinion, and also is most suitable for typical contest judging (at least from the many contest winners I've seen in magazines, etc.)

| | | All definite improvements. Good job. Sometime I would love to see #5 shot from along the left wall, just looking out to the first bar. The detail and color in the wall is the best thing in that photo.

| | | Thanks for all the comments. i will enter #5 in the contest unless I take a shot that I like better. I also went back to that location to get a shot from the center of the hallway. As I was making my way there the smokestack was churning out smoke. When I set up my camera the smokestack stopped! I couldn't believe my luck. But to make things worse, when I was driving away the smokestack started smoking again.
