Hello...
| | Random Pics in Central Texas < on 11/28/2005 6:22 PM >
| | | Here are some random pictures of some abandoned buildings in Central Texas. A hospital, a factory of some sorts, and a really nice house. This factory has been vacant for years. Not sure what they used to make here.
Really nice old house, unfortunately, one side of it is about to collapse. I'm not sure why the owners didn't try and repair it.
This inner city hospital packed it up and headed for the suburbs in the late 80's. Building was used as an assisted living center until 2001, when it was relocated next to the new hospital. The last pic is of an old pharmacy located across the street from the hospital.

I must concur with the preceding statement of my esteemed colleague.
I'm a blatant waste of time and resources. |

Mayhem, I'll have to agree more with 2X than my original post. I'm sure that you have your own reasons for not venturing inside yet like you're flying solo and aren't comfortable about the locations yet and you should only do as much as you're comfortable with. We all want you to enjoy yourself and get some great pics but don't let our enthusiasm goad you into anything. We're not peer pressure. We're peer encouragement. PS I can identify with bad knees. We non-running types have to rely more on our luck and communication skills. [last edit 11/29/2005 4:20 AM by Barry Kooda - edited 1 times]

| | | interpretation: when Barry uses words like "enthusiasm" just substitute: zealot, rabid, crazy, wild man, dangerous and notorious people, etc. etc....

| | | I'm gonna try the factory again real soon. The hospital is the prize for me. The only problem is that it's in such a busy area. There's a free clinic adjacent to the property that is always busy, and some of there employees park under the hospital's covered entry. The other side faces a pretty busy street. And night time would worry me a little. Bad, bad area of town.... Plans are in the works to demolish the hospital and build low cost single family housing on the empty lot... Two words for you friend in urban / retail situations: Sunday Morning! Or if you attend church, Sunday during Cowboys games are good too. I'll let you in on another thing to consider. Parking. Some vehicles look really out of place in industrial parks and retail areas on Sunday when everything is closed. Good luck.
