| | | Old Taylor Distillery Artsy Fartsy Shots < on 11/21/2005 4:48 AM >
| | | Taken November 20 with a short duration exposure. I scouted this area with Stuart the night before but had noticed that one of the warehouses had a crane to it. Quite not knowing what to make of it, I checked it out the next day and learned that the top three floors had collapsed. I had driven by this place a lot and saw that the upper three floors looked to have a light in them - florescent what I believed. Except it was natural light from the moon. Exploring this would be impossible, if not deadly. And is it being demolished? I now believe it will be restored. Although the upper three floors are visible to the moonlight, there is a lot of new wood laying about, indicating potential renovation plans. The crane does not have a wrecking ball attached, and the crane itself is too close to the building. There is no barricades except for a temporary fence, and no signs whatsoever that would be needed for a demolition that is so close to the roadway. Reason I believe it might be renovated: Woodford Reserve Distillery near Versailles. It was abandoned for many years before a $10 million dollar restoration brought it back to life. It now hosts 80,000+ visitors per year and is quite literally, a cash cow. The bourbon has a nice taste as well.

| | | Excellent shots, all of them. All are well composed, but I'm particularly fond of the last one. It seems that they all have a slightly greenish cast, which I would gues come s from the light source and the long exposure... if you could even that out, these would definately be worth hanging on a wall. Great work. - Kel

I have digital negatives of each, so I can alter them with no loss in quality if you want. The first two were illuminated with a florescent light in front of a building that was behind me. The third was illuminated with my brake lights on my car in the foreground and natural light in the back. The last was florescent lighting from the building. Thanks for the comments If I do make prints, I'll let you know.
