Located in Iowa, Louisiana about 15 minutes east of Lake Charles alongside I10, Pirate’s Cove Water Park has been sitting mostly complete for upwards of a decade. Construction began on what was originally dubbed Little Kahuna Water Park in 2008 and was initially supposed to open summer of 2010, but unfortunately, the park has never had the chance to open at all.
Developer and co-owner David LeJeune has been fighting an uphill battle since its inception; according to the Pirate’s Cove Facebook page, they’ve been struggling to obtain necessary permits for many years due to neverending red tape and even potential political interference. The last posts on the page indicated a summer 2019 opening was on the horizon, as they were encouraging people to send in their applications, but it's been radio silent since then.

We saw this park along the highway in the middle of a road trip back home and decided to do an impromptu exploration! My highly revered accomplice Kory even skated down the waterslide!

Nice work!!

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.
