| | | These are fantastic, we hardly see photos from this location so thanks for sharing. What are you shooting with? This is one of the better sets I have seen posted to the Ontario forum in a long time, well done!
Funny story, if I may. A few years ago I went here, arrived to see a large hole in the fence and the gate into the factory was open. I helped myself, as we do, and proceeded to take several photos, really enjoying the building. A while later I posted some photos to facebook and shared them to a group for posting abandoned places from Ontario for people of the province who enjoy the photos Two days later a Halton Region police officer knocks on my door, she tells me the police department from this town wants to talk to me. I called the detective, she said I am looking at Mischief, B&E and Trespassing and she wants to talk to me in person. Three days later I had to drive 1.5 hours to meet her, she greeted me and took me into a room, advised me that this meeting will be recorded for legal purposes. It turns out that someone who is a member of this abandoned facebook group reported my pictures to the police, classic NIMBY bullshit. "I love abandoned pictures, but not when its a location in my town" Anyway, the detective assumed I hopped the fence and broke the lock. I quickly shut that down and told her that's not the way I do things and that had there not been a hole in the fence and a non destructive way in, I would have walked away. I then told her of my history of doing the right thing in several situations and she believed me. She proceeded to compliment me on my work and my website, she sent me on my way with a document advising me that if I am caught on the property (including the parking lot) at any time in the next 3 years that I face a $5,000 fine So, to all who attempt this one - be careful!

| Hey thanks! It's a fantastic old building, I've always had a soft spot for it. Posted by Freaktography These are fantastic, we hardly see photos from this location so thanks for sharing. | Thanks Freak, you're a legend! Shoot mainly with my trusty ol' A6000. Didn't realize your encounter was such an ordeal. Unfortunately, people in the town are very much like that (it's even got 'rat' in the name). I think I'm going to put a bit more effort into separating my online presence/personas after reading your story. Posted by Ground State
Just the right size, for me. I might be mistaken, but I feel like the UER clientele is just a bit older and not as married to their phones as the more mainstream social media crowd. For me, it's desktop widescreen monitor all the way with UER, and therefore the bigger the better. I'd much rather have to do a split-second CNTRL "-" to shrink them to my screen than to not have as much detail because pics were uploaded small. That ghostly 2nd-last photo is a great one!
| Thank you for the feedback. Pretty sure I fall into that crowd, I prefer a desktop for browsing, but I'm not too hip with the coding and the shortcuts and all that. I just know how annoying it is when I'm panning all over an image to try to get the whole scene.
