Posted by Aran Awesome find! Is that a safe or a vault door in #9? Either way it's pretty cool.

It's a safe door, recessed into the end of the tunnel by about six feet. So I assume it at one time had a long handle on it, and inside was a long tray that would have slid out as there was no possible way of getting to it otherwise. Very unique.
Posted by Goste Wow this place is awesome! It's inspiring to see a place with such history for once not being trashed by graffiti and vandals. Walking through that water in that tunnel had to be fun though!

The whole tunnel had about 10cm of water in it which made it interesting to navigate, it's also helped keep the casual idiots out. Sadly I can't see it staying too mint for too long as the council who own the tunnel have a £20 million COVID-19 related debt to pay off and so I think sealing up an old tunnel is quite low on their list of priorities!
