Abandoned Battery Factory: 1923 - 2004 < on 4/25/2020 2:22 AM > | Reply with Quote
The temporary unemployment and forced isolation has given me some great opportunities to get out and do A LOT of solo exploring over the last few weeks.
I pack a lunch and bring coffee from home and the only real stops I need to make are to get gas, which I would have been doing anyway. So, I am doing my duty in physical distancing and using the opportunity to explore and do great things!
One of the locations I spent some time at recently was this old abandoned ruins of a battery factory.
This building was established in 1923 and operated in various capacities until 2004, today the building sits in ruins.
By 1925, the company was among the largest producers of dry-cell batteries in the world.. But they hit financial difficulties in the 1970s with a large anti-monopoly law suit, and went under in 1989 after being bought out by Mallory Battery – now known as Duracell.
The location didn't offer much of interest, but get here at the right time and the light provides exceptional shooting conditions!
Also, I took an entirely different direction for my video from this location. No silly intro, no nonsense, just some simple narration, a music track and the focus is on the location.
I hope you guys like this one! (Sorry about the flashlight hocking at the start, desperate times!)
