Posted by lonewolf34 If it's the one I'm thinking of, I went once and enjoyed it. It's huge and has a ton of buildings, and we probably only saw about 1/3 of them. However, so other friends went a couple different times after that and had to dodge security, just FYI (you're exposed in open fields 90 percent of the time there). I haven't seen any redevelopment plans for it, and not sure if they could due to the issues with the soil? If you go, go early in the year. It was infested with ticks...everywhere.

Thanks for the info. I remember reading a report from the EPA that their cleanup was completed but I can't find it anymore. About the redevelopment, I think I saw a thread on Fairfax Underground about it but who knows how trust worthy that is.
I think I'll check it out sometime soon. I have family up that way so that'll be a good excuse to get out and do it.
