If you insist on not waiting for University and climbing in the daytime, do this on a major holiday, or at the very least, a Sunday. Just understand you are taking a much greater risk. That said, it's certainly doable.
| The OP needs to carefully consider the consequences of a botched climb. Getting busted is not fun or cheap. Doing anything that makes this more likely is a rush if you pull it off or a real pain in the ass if you get popped. If the OP intends on ever going into the military getting busted could compromise this. They will see any arrest even if there's no conviction; you'll need to disclose it. Same for federal jobs or if you ever want a $ecurity clearance Consider the hassle of having to disclose an arrest record when applying for a job. In the digital age it's not forgotten nor seldom lost and is easily accessible even to civilian employers. The DOD sees -everything- even police complaints where no charges were filed. The hell I raised as a kid and got away with would screw me up completely if I did it now. Better to do your "homework" then to be sorry... - Control the heat-

Interesting little falling trivia I heard is that often the difference between going splat or going thud at great heights is whether or not you wear a belt. I have no idea if it's true or not, and don't get me wrong, you're dead either way, but it makes a difference for the cleaners. I assume they prefer corpses over soup.
| Doubt a belt makes any difference. Your heart is heavy with blood and if you pull enough G's from blunt impact it can rip at the aorta or simply go into arrest. The brain and heart are two weak links in high G impacts. Otherwise death is caused by multiple impact injuries; this can be painful and slower than one would want. I remember a girl that committed suicide by jumping 3 stories onto concrete. She landed feet first. She shattered her feet and legs. Took her 30 minutes to die; mortally wounded, and conscious most of that time. EMTs couldn't stabilize her, DOA.

| | | Don't fall. Past 3 stories of free fall you're playing with enough energy to shatter major bones. See BlackHawk's anecdote of the suicidal young woman - Break the big bones, big problem. Don't climb the night after a local explorer insists on a facebook group that his cranetop photos of new construction are real not photoshopped. Metal-bearing grease will not wash out. Oil-resistant soles help some with grease or water, not both. Never climb in rain, fog, or storms. As moody as cloud-whipped skies look in sick long exposures, the crane wobbles too much and lightning is made safe for the driver in the cab, not a fool on the boom. Stay in the caged ladder and railed platforms. They are designed and checked for walking. Booms aren't. Don't climb truss cranes ( monkey bar style climbing). The Dubai and Russia tower videos are not for you. Yet. Take your time in the approach. If you can't, you might take your time waiting on bail money. Police in America can find you on a crane and without pressing any legal charges hold you in a psychiatric ward or ER (with medical treatment) as "a danger to self." Be polite if busted. In Florida it's a felony to trespass in a construction site. Check local laws for surprises like that. After criminal charges the construction company may sue you for costs, expenses, and raising their insurance rates. Don't climb with these: lighter, spray paint, markers, knife, handgun, taser, weed, or mace.
