| | | As soon as I pulled into this particular location, I got a bad vibe and backed up. Before I could fully turn my car around, a guy runs OUT of an underground bunker, headed for his vehicle. Oh shit, I'm thinking, wtf have I done (though technically, I hadn't trespassed or done anything. I just pulled into a driveway and backed right out). The mistake I made was before I backed out I took s photo of the place, assuming it was abandoned, but either way, it was cool, and I just wanted the photo from the street. This nut job HAD to be watching me on some kind of CCTV OR SOMETHING. Anyways, I'm getting worried, so my casual turn-around becomes a squealing, curb kissing slide back onto the street and I gunned it. I underestimated this guys resolve. I was booking it around 80 or 90 down a farm road thinking Mr. Bat Shit Crazy would tire of this and just go home. Wrong. Seemingly out of nowhere the guy's riding my ass, trying to maneuver around my car. Now I'm panicking. Is he going to shoot me is he going to ram me off the road into this extremely deep ditch or something worse? Keep in mind, this is a two lane road with steep curves and winding hills and valleys, not the best line of sight for on coming traffic. This guy didn't give a shit about any of that and pulls beside me. we've now topped 100 mph. I'm pretty panicked at this point, and pretty convinced this guy wants me dead. I couldn't shake him as he started kissing the side of my car with his. Topped out around 130 or so with this idiot about to kill the next unsuspecting motorist coming from the other direction, I did the only others thing I could think of. I rolled down my window, yelling, "what the hell are you doing?!" I honestly don't remember what he said but I remember saying something about, "I'm a photographer! I take photos, I left as soon as I could!" Something silly like that. We're still neck and neck and I'm just praying no oncoming traffic makes an appearance, while simultaneously praying he's not going to pull out his semi automatic and aim right for my temporal lobe. It was pretty traumatic, so maybe that why I honestly don't remember why he ended the chase. I don't remember much of anything after that, except he yelled something back. Right after that fiasco, several (like dozens) of tornados came a couple hours later. I remember that clearly! Those tornadoes made for some of the best photographs I've ever taken in my life. As far as Nut Job, I've driven by his place a couple times, and my stomach still knots up, even several years after that incident.

| | | Posted by mookster Had a very bad encounter with an angry farmer in Belgium who chased us out of the abandoned house next to his own house with a large pole, his wife slashed our car tyres and we were shot at, that wasn't fun.
| I remember reading your full story on this a long time ago. Fascinating stuff haha. Whenever I tell someone who's never heard of UE or UER what it's all about, I use this story as an example. I must've retold your story 6 or 7 times by now. So thanks for the great material As for getting chased out, I've never been chased from an abandonment, but I have been chased and yelled at for being on top of active buildings. Angry store owner on the ground: "How'd you get up there?!" Friend standing at edge of roof: "Magic, bitch!" Then a dozen kids leap from the rooftops and dash away into the night.
