| | | In terms of radiation, it is very localized and they did a good job of making sure its largely inaccessible. For instance, one of the most contaminated places is a sealed pipe underneath drydock (or more accurately, graving dock) #1. The issue with security is that this is still partially considered a US naval facility, so be careful where you go and what you do, as it is quite possible (although highly unlikely) they can press federal charges if caught. The more imminent concern than radiation is organic particulates, so be careful in dusty areas. That building in the first pictures is in parcel D, and was part of a machine shop. There's a lot of metal and petroleum particulates in the ground there, so be careful. If you go over to the old barracks, be wary of the ground around it, since that is still a chemically active zone and was the most toxic (largely non-radiological) area.
