| | | Visiting family in Arkansas. Thinking there's nothing to do there but explore dirt, some of my cousins friends decide we should go for a drive, long story short we drive past the the Catholic Church that is still in use. There were two houses on the property, one where the current priest lives and another where other priests lived in the early 70's. I manage to do a fat boy front flip through a tiny bathroom window. This place was nearly un touched other than rodents chowing down. I find several bags of vintage clothes everywhere with tags still attached, toys and canned grape juice (This is what happens to all your donated goods). Looking around a bit more I see an old freezer, I start to open it waiting for the death stink and more bags "oh shit"...no more clothes, starting to move those bags around I find quite an impressive stack of nude mags, some were normalish but pretty damn weird, won't go into detail. Several of the other magazines were focused on beastiality (sour face) one was even an instructional "how to have sex with animals". I no longer go to church. The End.

| | | The weirdest find to-date for me was just a few months ago, exploring this abandoned house down the street from my parents home. My buddy and I, our first time being there, weren't sure about a possible POE for this one. Luckily it was a lot more accessible than anticipated. Walking around inside was comforting, I rarely find homes in this good condition. Judging by the hanging clothes in the closets, the boxes of miscellaneous garb, and the pile of wood + pipes by the front door, the place was moved out and forgotten since. Despite it's pretty decent condition the very upper floor was atrocious. The carpet had a thicket of dirt, ceiling crumble, bottles, and mainly chip or Doritos bags. Every room was the same shape and absolutely reeked of urine. It was in, what seemed to be, the gutted master bedroom that suggested was inhabited at some point. On the ground by the sleeping place I found something that kinda stopped me. It was my middle school year book, good condition. It had autographs from fellow classmates on the inside front cover, typical of our annual farewells. From the labeling I saw it was indeed one of MY fellow classmate's. I even found my old best friend's picture circled, eyes blacked out, and given little devil horns with a big ol' arrow pointing to him saying "GAY BOY." I had a good laugh at that. A few other laughs at all the forgotten friends I had. Afterwards I wondered many things. How did this get here? Who felt the importance, of all things, this yearbook would serve in an abandoned house? Was this really left here by my fellow classmate? What could have happened to him that would lead him to living here like this? Did his hatred for my personal best friend back then have something to do with it? The beauty in it all is that I'll never know, those questions being the adventure of the entire thought behind it. But it was impressive to see just how small the world is. I didn't see myself realizing that in some old, abandoned house that day. I kept the yearbook. My best friend now is from that same class and shared my same best friend back then. I pull it out from time and time again. We both have a good laugh over the coincidence of it. What actually are the odds I would find this there?
