While driving past this place with a friend, we noticed the driveway gates that are usually padlocked shut were open. Naturally, we started poking around, and the whole place is kinda weird.
It's
massive, first of all, and looks as though construction was completely halted a while ago.
Secondly, it's got a really nice pool house just behind it that definitely is being lived in. We wanted to talk to the people there to find out the story behind the house, but they weren't home.
Third, there's an old Mercedes S500 in front of the house. The plates expired in 2012 and the driver's seat is covered in cobwebs, but otherwise it looks practically new.
Lastly, there's a clearly much older building also on the property that looks almost like it's an old church?
The mansion is complete with what looks like was meant to be an indoor basketball court,
a courtyard,
a twelve or so foot stone wall surrounding said courtyard,
and a beautiful interior.
Our current theories are that
A. somebody's business went belly-up mid construction
or B. somebody died mid construction
but neither of those really explain the church building, the pool house, or the left behind car.
Anyway, we got a couple of good pictures, and I hope we'll be able to go back sometime and ask about it.
