| | | No kidding, that is quite a list you have there! Which is good to take a very professional approach to explorations. I myself never take anything (the first time around). There are many times when I do not know I'll encounter an abandoned building, although, I am ALWAYS prepared with my digicam. I simply walk around it and look for any possible entries, which most of the time I do not need anything to infil-COUGH-COUGH, urban explore ;) When I am finally on my way to a location, I try to keep it simple so I do not look like an explorer (preferably go with a dirty look to act like a squatting bum in case I encounter trouble). Flashlight Camera & an EXTRA memory card Steel toe boots Backpack Gloves (can't leave behind any prints) Flathead & Phillips screwdrivers ...I would take a crowbar (IF I had one).

| | | I'd list my gear but it's grown to be just way too much stuff. I need to stop carrying half of it.

^ same. Except on any given 3 or 4 trips I'll end up using almost all of it (except emergency gear). Kinda makes it hard to slim the load down. Vertical Access Gear: Helmet, harness, descender, ascending gear, gear sack, extra biners/double-sheeve pulleys/prussiks/spare descender/various 1" webbing, 200ft rope (occasionally other lengths of rope or rigging gear too). Gear in Blackhawk hydration pack: 2 to 3 liters of water, compass, glowstick, backup flashlight, backup backup headlamp, backup backup flashlight, first aid kit, zip ties, gum, spare glasses, beef jerky, granola bars, N95 mask, P&S camera, Blistex, florescent orange duct tape, sharpie, notepad, pen, lighter, multitool, fingerprinting brush (for dusting off glasses), ziploc bags, small roll of TP, mini signal flare, space blanket, spare 18650 batteries, spare AA batteries, Gear worn on me: headlamp, backup headlamp, radio, handheld light-in-holster(800lm), secondary handheld light (1500lm), pocketknife, glasses strap, headband, knee pads, extra thin dipped gloves, leather gloves, boots, cargo pants, half-mask respirator. Occasional gear: Rubber boots, wetsuit, scuba gear, dive lights, coveralls, rain suit, gun, gas detector, UV light It's really not THAT much gear. Pretty much all of it pictured here: [last edit 10/18/2013 5:23 PM by Therrin - edited 1 times]
