| | | Posted by don_corleyone do you ever go inside any of these buildings? just wondering cuz you didn't post any interior photos. that being said, i like the photo of Kanawha Falls, WV and the one before it. i wanna go inside that red brick building at the falls!!

I usually dont venture inside. I'm usually riding solo, and have little interest in my 250lb self going through a floor or something with no help. Also, my typical riding day is 350+ miles then setting up camp which doesn't allow for much time for wandering about on foot. The power station at Kanawha Falls IIRC is either active or being renovated. I really wish I had saved my GPS track logs from the trip that I took the pic above that on. I could spend several day riding and exploring within a couple hours of that spot. The roads were great, no traffic, and tons of old farmhouses and such.

| | | These are all great! Bikes must be a great way to explore on your own. I just wish you had some interior shots of some of these locations!

| | | Well, mini-me is in pre-school full time, and the V-Strom will be back on the road by the end of February, so hopefully this thread will be getting some action soon. I also picked up another rural exploration vehicle, but I might have to start another thread, this one has two too many wheels... 2000 Audi S4 6-speed.

| | | Is that an old mine there near the end? And yeah, I drove by a cool looking place in NE GA somewhere, looked like an old gas station, but the idea of the property owner being around... I was too nervous to go look!

That is a natural cave with a capped mineral spring inside. I guess the spring dried up, there are the remains of mineral baths, and taps for bottling water there.
