| | | So my work is too cheap to pay the janitorial service that cleans our store to come in 7 days a week. As a result me an another guy spot-mop the floor on Wednesdays and Fridays. We go up and down each aisle and if there's a dirty spot you mop it. It sounds worse than it is, but honestly you can kill a ton of time just holding the mop and looking at the floor annoyed - looks like you're working - working hard! Anyhow, we start at 5:00am and the place opens at 6:00am, which is kind of a bitch. You'll mop a spot and 5 seconds later some dumbfuck customer/employee will walk right over it, tracking their dirty shoe prints down the entire aisle. That alone pisses me off, I used to go back then mop again, but after a while you learn to not care - life is easier that way. ----Also the spots are usually small so we never have a wet floor cone, or anything. Just mop and walk down the aisle (the neon yellow mop bucket that says "wet floor" and a person holding a mop should be evidence enough to "watch your step". Myself if I see someone mopping I watch out, both for my own safety and the common courtesy of not tracking dirt all over the floor they've just cleaned, but these people don't give a fuck.------ Long story short I had just mopped this approx. 1x2ft area, proceeded to walk down the aisle (6ft at most) then I hear a woman scream. Some bitch came tearing around the corner (wearing heels), slipped, and fell on her ass. I didn't see it happen, just heard her scream. I then turn around asked her, "are you okay??" Another employee was also in the area and asked her the same question. The women replied yes, we asked her again "are you sure?" To which she again replied, "yes." A bit rattled she got up and walked away - but seemed alright. I didn't know what to do, or how to handle the situation. I probably could have mitigated things better, but its not something that happens everyday. So I finish my shift, go home, leave for class at 12pm and get home at 7pm. Once I get home my brother tells me oh your work called 4-5x, wanting to talk with you about something. I'm guessing this chick is trying to sue now! We'll see how it plays out I suppose. *edited spelling + clarity
