| | | Finally, FINALLY got ahold of my new Canon T2i 550D, so I decided to do something a little special. Snuck into a foundry in Gainesville, Texas that I stumbled across in Google maps. Turned out to be a pretty epic place! 1. The Foundry
2. More of the outside
3. More More of the outside
4. More more more of the outside
5. Owner and employees are home... Ninja mode, GO!
6. Scrap crane
7. On the crane
8. Pile O' Scrap
9. Mostly engine blocks... This one looks like an old Ford inline 4
10. Inside...
11. Foundry pots... These were still VERY hot.
12. ???
13. Apparently some sort of thing you sit on and drive
14. Crane controller
15. More of the inside
16. Medusea
17. Is using water coolers for sodium carbide OSHA approved?
18. Molds or something?
19. ???
20. Scrap metal
21. Workers were everywhere...
22. Foreman's station
23. Building #2
24. Furnace?
25. No idea what this is but I love it.
26. Clay molds of some sort
27. Industrial goodness
28. Control Panel
29. High voltage
30. How cool! They still use punch cards! (notice all the dudes clocked in, lol)
31. Big sink
32. And yours truly.
33. And I'm out... And nobody is the wiser.

Gracias. And I have absolutely no idea. My best guess is that it's a boom that can extend backwards and forwards to position a nozzle over a crucible's opening to fill it with molten metal?

I don't think there are any active explorers in Gainesville, and I have no idea why, I went up there on a whim and there are a TON of nice spots I need to go hit.
