He's used to it. The first time you do meth, you feel happier than you ever could feel without it. Then will never feel happy again.
If I end up falling off something and end up paralyzed from the neck down, I'd like someone to inject a mixture of heroin, meth, and cocaine straight into my jugular. Lemme go out with a smile on my face.

Interestingly enough, I just had a conversation with a buddy of mine who is a cop about how a massive rising problem in Texas in mobile meth labs. Yes, Mobile. Dudes will get a big Chevy Astro panel van with no windows, build a bulkhead so you can't see in from the windshield or door windows, and have a lab set up in the back, and just drive around. As long as the tags are good on the van and the driver doesn't speed, there really is almost literally no way the cops can catch them, because it's illegal to pull people over for no reason. They'll pull into rural gas stations at 3 or 4 am and fuel up, every once in a while stop for supplies...

The days of the large scale methlabs in buildings is gone, or dying. Meth can be made in those big liter, or even 20 oz. water bottles now. You don't need all the beakers and stuff anymore. The Meth tech industry is really growing fast.

| | | What about street thugs and gangsters? A few weeks ago, I and my team were ran out by a bunch of shady guys at an abandoned industrial park just for being in their hangout spot. They were also probably taggers. Upon returning just last week, we found the place all sprayed up.

| | | I've run into the homeless often. Usually the first guy I run into will be skittish and try to discourage us from visiting the encampment by telling us that some "other guy" might not like us being there. Once I've chatted with him and proceeded, it is as if we have cleared the checkpoint and the others don't give us a hard time. If a meth lab is cooking, there will be a strong smell of ether. Learn the smell (automobile "starting fluid"), if you smell it GTFO and call the cops. The wasp spray is a great idea! * edit for spelling [last edit 6/19/2011 5:32 PM by Keaven - edited 1 times]

If you're talking about guns then yes (but then again maybe you just haven't explored "the right" place). But there are a lot of people who carry knives/shanks/sharp objects and the like who would be more than happy to introduce you to them under the right circumstances. Think about it, if some one is in a sketchy place like an abandoned house you can damn well count on them having something that will help them defend themselves, even if it's against a raccoon or any wild animal really. You can never assume that just because the tension is gone and you feel safe that you can let your guard down, even simple objects such as keys can do substantial damage in the wrong hands (or right hands?). Just look around you right now and see if you have enough fingers on your hands to count how many every day objects and trash you can find that can be used as a weapon in some way. Even the most beautiful rose has thorns, don't put too much trust into people.

| | | The only people I've had a problem with while exploring were gang members but most of the time they don't want anything to do with you. Other times they chase you with a bat. I agree with most here on bringing smokes. Great post!

| | | Yah, as a rookie i have had no encounters luckily with any hobos, junkies or cooks. My first trip i ever took was in maybe May or June at this big 4 story build that use to house a billboard company(ITS IN THE UEDB ). Its in a kinda bad area, its not that bad but its also right by the University of Pittsburgh so there are many college kids around. My mom drives by it on her way to work(im 14) everyday so she noticed a huge industrial door was open one day and a week or so later i went out to it but the night before or the night before that there was a car glaring its lights into the building through the open door and there where lots of people carrying on and the next day all the windows where knocked out and there was graffiti on the sides, roof and fire escape. So I go in through the door and a giant empty room is covered in graffiti everywhere that looks brand new. I travel to the second part of the ground floor and of course the railing is ripped out of the wall and missing and more fresh paint and the little office sections glass is all over the floor and swastikas and I hate neo-nazis and didn't know what to expect of these anarchists if they where still there and i just didn't feel right there because all the ceiling lights where on the floor and 2 huge stairs in the staircase and i knew i couldn't jump the stairs. The building is re boarded up but it was open last month and if it still is open i would shocked if there werent any hobos, junkies, cooks, dealers or gangsters in there. | | | Posted by Captain_Slow 2. Someone is chasing after you. Run, run like the wind. Don't leave any friends behind, strength is in numbers. DO NOT just run blindly hoping to find an exit, run for the NEAREST EXIT YOU KNOW YOU CAN GET OUT OF IMMEDIATELY. Don't think you can really quickly run to the back door and kick it in, you won't have time. Instead, run for the nearest door or window you know is open. Don't look behind you to see how close your pursuer is, that will only distract you from what's ahead and probably lead to you tripping and falling. Throw ANYTHING you can find on the ground behind you to try and make your pursuer trip instead, your backpack, your tripod, knock over tables and chairs on your way by, shut doors as you run through if you can, but don't slow down. Get out, but be ready to fight if they catch you. See the above paragraph.

Just a heads up, don't ask how I know this but that makes a different kind of Meth, low quality and not a lot of it for the time it takes and risks. Labs are still being set up everywhere. So BE CAREFUL Also, This is an amazing article with amazing points, Thank You

| | | If you took some crack with you and threw it at the crackheads, that should give you time to knife a hobo, which should throw the zombies off long enough for you to make an escape. Just thinking out loud......
I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread. |
