| | | It looks like the white balance is way off in pretty much all the pictures - though that could be intentional. Most of the pictures, IMO, aren't all that interesting. They could be framed better, and have a more dominant subject. That being said, I like 1, 3, and 8 best.

| | | It was really dark in the building, so we were screwing around with different settings and white balance a lot. Looking back I realize that the subjects are often not well placed (like in the receiver picture). In my defense, it was really crowded and hard to shoot in this place, not the best work. I do need to work on choosing a better subject instead of just broad pictures of things strewn about the floor.

I think you've got yourself figured out there. #3 has potential with different framing #7 same as above and with less noise What camera do you shoot with and do you have a tripod? If you dropped the ISO and run a longer exposure that will really help with the noise issue. Also learn about shooting RAW if your camera has the option it makes playing with white balance (and lots of other parameters) much easier if you don't like the original shot.

It's actually my friend's mom's camera (embarrasing) but it's a Nikon Coolpix P90. Tripod is definitely a good idea, I have really unsteady hands. Thanks for the tips with ISO and RAW.

That's a very capable point and shoot I'm sure the longer you play with it the more you'll learn. If you need any help with the settings or have questions about features and their use feel free to join my camera and lens private board. If you can't find it just PM me and I'll ad you.
