The Industrial Giant - Outside3rd February 2002

For an abandoned building this place has apparently always had security. Though there were some holes in the fence they were said to have been repaired rapidly. The longest a hole would be left would be about 2 weeks, even then the fences would be lucky to have any holes for months on end. From the outside a bit of an idea of the size of the building can be gathered.

Looking along the south side of the building. This is about half the length of the building visible here.

Foyer in north east corner of the building near the security check point.

Upstairs, where the room at the north end of the courtyard is.

Tunnel into the building, squeezy though

Fenced off area near the north east foyer.

Underground carpark in area I explored last.

North end of building. The area here holds the largest rooms in the building. 2 massive store rooms on 2 levels.

Old guard post.

Newer fencing - note the massive hole in the wall

Hole in the side of the building, you can see right through to the west end. The Exit room is near the other end of the building here. The showroom is closer, and on the left.

East wall of the complex. It was the offices up here that I wandered through and discovered the switch board and wall safe.

East side of complex

The main foyer along the south side of the building.

Foyer entrance and upstairs offices.

South side of building.

The entry point. This picture is taken through the fence that I had to crawl under.
All of this is gone now. Hence no need to worry about blowing the location.

For an abandoned building it was pretty secure

Small entrance on south side

Will a bike helmet do?
