Salmon Street Industrial Estate12 January 2001

This old industrial estate was buldozed a couple of years ago now, but when we used to explore it, it was the largest abandoned estate in UA City. Today there is nothing left of the place, it will soon be sold off as vacant land. These images are the only way of showing what once existed.

This site was amazing! It was huge, covering a whole block almost. The estate contains over a dozen buildings, most of them well intact. From big huge sheds to smaller single room sheds an a couple of abandoned houses. This huge industrial site was also the home of an annoying homeless person who enjoyed causing trouble for adventurous explorers.

The front of Salmon Street industrial park.

The entrance to this complex was via a small access point near the fire hydrants to the right of the main gates. It was best not this industrial park for the one close by as UA City Security, a local security firm, would turn up quick smart and rightly ask what the heck we were doing.

Part of the industrial estate, looking south towards several large sheds.Yes, that thing in the sky is a UFO! I thought it was a 747 until it got closer.

looking north towards where the image above was taken from. Note the big shed past the blue house on the left.

On the south side looking back towards the road. There are lots of 'Quonsot' style sheds.

The interior of the house by the main gate is strewn with old computer equipment. Just right of the reel of wire in the center of the picture is an ISDN modem which I took home. The building was buldozed with this equipment still in it.

Sadly many more images of this complex were lost when the UEA site shut down.
