1st visit

went there today for the first time to actually explore, been there plenty of times for the beach which has great waves for new york at least.

As you first come into the base(from the bus route at least) there are 5 buildings clustered together that appear to be bath houses and one concession stand that has some bad structural damage, probably from Hurricane Sandy. All of these "preliminary" buildings are entirely open to the elements and are filled with sand, some just a dusting, others have 3 feet or so. Further back there's 2 fire control towers with roof access (3 foot hop up, then down a set of steel rungs buried in the reinforced concrete). There is allow 2 or 3 shell storehouses and 2 large batteries that were unfortunately sealed tight this time
