I'm telling you, high winds + spooky tapes in oddly still-working beatboxes = somewhat freaked explorers.

And sensing PW's stress level, FJ says 'ere! <cough> and passes the magbong to PW.

I forgot my hat; and gloves, so I used my mountain bike gloves. I wondered if someone would pick up on the goofy blue gloves.

I was going to say something about the blue gloves when I spotted them back on the first floor, but figured they were just part of your gear... At least I'm not the only one with biking gloves in my pack.

I've been looking for good UE'ing gloves. I carry leather ones with me, but they're more like work gloves, and I can't operate the camera with them on. They're more for situation where I think, "wow, that looks nasty/rusty/pointy... I think I'd rather have a layer of something between me and it."

Mild weather, It's probably pretty dorky to wear them at all. Of course like you said, why touch questionable objects with bare hands. So in that case a set of those Mechanix gloves would be ideal. Winter: I just have a lined set of deerskin gloves. But it's still a pain in the ass; gloves on , gloves off. I think for photography, a set of hunting gloves where the first two fingers flip away would be ideal. Like I said, warm weather gloves may be UE dorky but if you are cool, then a pair of tose tight kevlar police search gloves would be the shit.
