Rainmain, Moncton and the region is booming right now and the city is willing to give demolition permit to anyone for anything. The white and green house is another example, and a month ago, 4 houses with business on first floor with demolished. 10 old houses were demolished last spring to make room for condos and this goes on and on... It think it's more than time that Moncton and other towns of our region get their sh** together and adopt some heritage policies...

Amen to that. While I agree that a community needs to grow in order to survive, some buildings should be saved especially if they can be reused.
If my comment has caused offence, I appologize. I just get really disgusted when I see nice old buildings that can still be used end up being demolished.

Damn, I should run for office (PM maybe). Get the balance between preserving this country's history and ensuring future growth.

but you have hit the nail on the head, rainman! Most politicians love numbers that say things like 10,000 new homes were built! But you never hear anyone wanting to throw out the government because 2000 potential heritage units were demolished. The illusion of progress serves government very well indeed.

I thought about starting a political party; the Common Sense Party of Canada... but than I came to the conclution that no one would vote for it.
