Was vacant at the time, getting some restoration work done to it. Since the fire, though, it's been designated and will be restored.

Glad to see it's not being wasted as a landmark.

It's nice that it's being saved, they'd have just pulled it down in my area.

Thankfully Burnaby is a city known for parks. The GVRD actually listened to the residents.

The warehouse went up a few years ago. It looks alot closer than it really is. Its sitting on the other side of a fairly wide Barnett Creek.

The family wouldn't have sold it if it was going to simply be torn down; the GVRD bought it from the original owner's son, John. If they hadn't wanted to restore it and make it into a landmark, he wouldn't have sold it to them.

I heard the same story. I live in Victoria now, but the last time I drove by this place it was fully restored / completed. Looks as beautiful as it deserves to.
