Yeah, at first I thought it may have been a shantytown, but those definitely aren't houses. So maybe it is a cemetary... again, compare the sizes of the box-things to the cars on the street -- they seem rather small and close together to be burial plots. But then, that's making the assumption that Iraqi burial sites would resemble Western ones, which may not be true.
Interesting how you can see the green stop and the desert stop just as you reach the horizon in this pic.

I am gonna go with cemetery, they are large boxes for above ground tombs I am guessing, they would be compairable to the size of a car...

Yep. That's a cemetery. I had the joy of chasing a mortar team in there on Halloween night under a full moon trying to clear that place. Ended up having to pull out. There was just no way to continue on safely.
