Moving this thing was heavy. And once it was moving, it was very hard to stop it. While it was moving the walls were creaking really bad.

The vault was most likely the remants of "Rochester Community Savings Bank", they merged with another bank in the early 90s, but I do remember the elevator they had in the middle of the site (glass all around other than the doors)....is it there anymore?

Good info on the bank. As for the elevator, I really don't remember as security and the auction were happening in the middle. I was primarily on the outer perimeter to avoid them.

No probs! I heard from a friend back in ROC that they were at a impasse with razing Midtown Plaza because they said it was eligible as a Historical Landmark, is that the case by any chance?

I don't believe so. As of today's news, the Renaissance Square project is moving forward.
