Didcot A burns a certain amount of biomass with the coal, which is fed into the system by "walking" floors. The Shea mill is piled up in a large storage house, where the floors "walk" towards a hopper and feed it directly on top of the coal rushing up the conveyer towards the coal bins. I am told the breaking of one of the massive belts is quite a spectacle if the emergency stop button isn't hit within a few seconds.

of course, our powerhouse is related to a paper mill, but we also burn bark, knots, shitty woodchips as well as #6 fuel oil. That's just for the power boiler... we also have a recovery boiler right next to it for the paper process... so not only is it a noisy place to work, but the building is constantly booming, rolling, and shaking.
