Wow. I'm stunned. Turd, you've found something truly unique. Not that other sunken ships aren't on the DB, but I would never have guessed that there was one in the Charleston area.
Simply amazing.

I've seen it for years from the river and could never quite place exactly where it was. Then I saw the article from the media section in the paper last month. Thanks to daylight saving time I was able to visit it in daylight after work!

The trees look almost as if they are reaching for the boat, pulling it closer to them. Nice pictures...heck of a surprise if you happened to lose your footing, though. I imagine the water is a tad bit nippy this time of year.

I don't know if you'd want to be in the Kanawha River any time of year. Or the Ohio, for that matter. You'd probably mutate. Neither one is as clean as the rivers in Washington, from what Lil-trouble's been telling me about them. I look forward to seeing those someday.

Yeah I feel the same way, it's a shame not to be able to enjoy the local river. The worst part is fishing, catching all those huge catfish only to throw them back!

Though I do know some people who used to and still do snorkel around this wreck like it's in Florida or something.
