Also from C&M LLP, this photo dates circa 1915, and it appears the Canal is now Erie Blvd, in the distance. The near intersection is S. Ferry St. Walking home today, I noticed that the stepped brickwork on this side of Barneys (the darker brick on the roof of the near bldg on the right) has a painted sign for a hardware store, and the next tall bldg past Barneys (past the low bldg between, which is no longer there and is now actually a wide alley) has a sign for a shoe and hosiery business painted on the side.
