Umm... that's not a light. You can't really see it from this angle, but there is a plumbing type valve on the far side, and a drain in what would be the bottom. I think that it is some sort of cauldron.

this is a light the pipe coming out of the bottom would be there to insulate the wireing and protect it and i am sure it wasnt a cauldron the plate you can see on it has writting on it that would be upside down if it were a cauldron

a cauldron would be nice if you were writing a story - but it looks like a commercial mixer in the kitchen - that kitchen was once a glorious production center feeding the many rooms within the facility -- but boozing chefs and mismanagment ensured its demise - such a damn shame - the best memories as a child here.

That is indeed a cauldron, a steam cauldron in fact. it would have had a lid and was heated by a steam valve. They get hot fucking fast and they are great for cooking liquids of every type.
