thats about the size of fire it took to make that guys money go up in smoke. im guessing the guy got 2 or 3 million into developing this place from what i can see. I cant imagine getting 3 million into something and then cutting my losses.

it was actually a lot more than that. There were actually three attempts to get this project going. Most of the money was in the beginning. I don't know if the site still has it or not, but at one point there were tanks pulled from the old Labatts factory here in Victoria that Albert bought and stored on his site. He had a dream of using them in this site as a cool hot tub. At the time, the fireplace was the largest in the world. The idea would have been an open bonfire in the middle of the resort.

Albert had a lot of great ideas.. I would ask if this was his only project but I noticed the person who knows everything about it hasn't been on UE since '06. Shame.

What a magnificent piece of work! A shame this place couldn't be saved!
