At first I was like What the hell happened to the pic, then I realized it's that ugly building.

This photograph is full of bland, ugly building and yet everyone picks on OCAD? At least it has some style. You may not like that style, but admit it: it's a lot more interesting than 99% of what passes for achitecture in Toronto.

a microsoft building that crashed. i personally like toronto but one thing about bland architecture. Compare olympic stadium to skydome (creature comforts aside) olympic stadium on the outside is incredibly more interesting than skydome

"Lets put a building on stilts on top of another building" is cool architecutre. "Lets cover it with big black pixels and make the stilts multicolored" is art school BS.

It really is a stunning landmark. It was a functional solution to sight lines and public space issues, but today it's an icon. It's the kind of bold and avant garde affair that once upon a time would be expected in Montreal. Today, it reminds us that Toronto's architecture is great. I find nostra-YOUPPI's comparison of the Olympic Stadium funny considering the disaster that it was in construction and financing, and the fact that's badly underused now. Compare the T-D Centre, CN Tower, University College, Union Station to...well, it's hard to find such comparison points between the two cities. Toronto's a great city. I don't know where the stigma came about its architecture. Possibly because the city has lost a lot to demolition and fires.
