Charge the camera battery the night before, plan the route and print out maps.

Let the Mrs. know where I will be.

Get about one hour of sleep.

Take off at sunrise.

Plot course into GPS.

Stop midway for a coffee.

Hit the gas as the adrenaline rush begins to hit 5 minutes from destination.

Find way in.

Worry if I was seen entering building.

Take photos.

Suffer crash from coffee mid-way through exploring, regret coffee.

Concern grows, will I be able to find my way back out again.

Take off before darkness falls.

Stop at some cozy diner along the way home and enjoy the atmosphere while I wonder where the cars driving by are headed to.

Arrive home, crash in bed.

Wake up the next day and inspect the photos.

Regret taking poop in abandonment, wonder if I should post "has anyone ever discovered" thread, should I use this pic or that pic for Photo-A-Day, is this self shot a "super rad photo", is that photo of two mice humping good enough for a "WTF" thread photo, will I be crucified for posting this one as HDR, this pic would make a good orbz thread - decide against it, save this pic for the "How well do you know Ontario locations" but remember people's mouths open in dumb gaze and they draw flies if you post anything north of Barrie, consider posting in UE Photo Critique but then think I'll be basted and decide not to.
In the end the only thread that makes it through this mental anguish is the single Ontario thread with pics.

Enjoy reading replies from people, it brings a smile to my face.

Go back and do it all over again.

Yeah. I always make sure to poop before I go. And I'll normally have coffee with me in a thermos or something and when I find a good spot where I'm comfortable, I'll drink a cup and just enjoy the view.

i leave a beer bottle. have for years now. sometimes when i revisit a place i see my old beer bottle, intact or smashed...

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

hey everyone,
I'm a new member, looking forward to getting involved in the forums!
I'm thinking of putting together a playlist of tunes for an exploration expedition I am going on this weekend.
Anyone have any good suggestions for appropriate songs? All genres of music are welcome!

I have a grey and black horizontally striped sweater I like to wear every time I explore and I have to have a cappuccino (French Vanilla) with Amon Tobin or Skream playing on the MP3 player.

I like stuff that has a tight beat against some "ambiance".

Amon Tobine, Skream, Burial, Caspa, Theivery Corporation, Massive Attack, Download and things of that nature.

Yes, pooping beforehand is always a big plus. eat binding food before hand save the fast food for afterwards. nothing worse than getting bubble guts while exploring.

I make sure to spray paint the fuck out of places. And if a place is starting to get to much attention or if its a particular place that people really enjoy, well...lets just just say SWIM gets their arson on.

The Misandry around these parts is redonkulous. Sorry I was born with male anatomy.

I always have a quick wank before I'm at the location, while I'm in the location and after I get back from the location.

And the night after and the day before. For eh, safety, you know.

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

I always call up my friend and pick him up, we get our gear out of the trunk but leave behind the huge buck knives we both carry in my car and swap them out for multi-tools and littler pocket knives

closest thing to a UE tradition we have.

I don't know if it counts as a tradition but I normally try and not break any laws enroute to a location.

Be it a strike against luck, karma, or just paranoia that the same cop that lets me go on a traffic ticket is the same one that responds to a trespassing call...

Last time I got a speeding ticket it was heading to an abandoned hospital and ended up being all for nothing as I had a slew of shitty luck, got stuck on a dead tree in the woods, sliced my hand on broken glass getting the car unstuck, and ended up going home after I realized just how much noise and light I was creating.

I get streaks of good luck and streaks of bad luck ... because luck is like 90% attitude so if you feel luckily you will be. Kill the mood, kill your luck.

"No risk, no reward, no fun."
"Go all the way or walk away"
