| | | | Honestly I didn't find it all that exciting...you can only go into very limited places...plus you have to listen to some really horrible jokes..But is a good way to learn about the history of seattle.

I've been on the Underground Tour a couple of times, actually. Once long ago as a kid, again recently as part of a "morale event" at work. Even if you managed to sneak off in the middle, there wouldn't be anywhere to go. It's not like a big tunnel system, it's just some fairly isolated rooms and parts of old sidewalks around the bases of buildings (which used to be street-level before the street was raised up). One interesting thing you discover when you go on the tour is what the undersides of those little glass-block windows on the Seattle sidewalks look like  And then you realize as you walk around outside that there must be quite a few more sections of the Underground not shown on the tour, but word has it that these are either inaccessible or are privately owned and used for storage and whatnot. Bummer.
