Bring a roll of duck/duct tape and put some over the strike box. Problem solved. When you're leaving, take it off.

Please explain.....

Take the duct tape and tape over the bolt locking it back into the door.

Speaking from personal experience?

Yes.
My friend pulled an alarm @ Patuxent, closed 20 years and burned to boot.
It was a loud and startling experience.

Too bad there's not a pic of the look on his face right as it connected.

That's priceless.

Yup. I do this all the time, just to be safe. Tape comes in handy for a variety of things so you could save yourself from bring doorstops and have a multi-purpose item by bringing the tape. I usually bring gaffer's tape (filmmaker) which is as strong as duct tape but is non-reflective (no glossy surface to interrupt a light or a flash) and does not leave a sticky residue after you remove it.

For cheap, 1/2" tape that'll get the job done: http://cinemasuppl.../per12p6caman.html

More versatile, expensive 2" tape (what I use): http://cinemasuppl.../2blacwhitgre.html

Obviously get black. Cheers.

That is nice stuff. I carry J&J white cloth first aid tape. For emergencies. Cops don't get funny when they find this.

So true.
I always have few of these in my bag.
Came in handy quite a few times.

I've never had this problem, but its a good idea, I have a bunch of these somewhere in my house from the dollar store.

dont close doors behind you they might lock on you...

long story short...since i did that i had to go up and down aprox. 60 flights of stairs to make everything back to the way it was. It was like a puzzle. Yeah so just dont close doors behind you they might lock on you.

heh I've always taken good care not to do this and it hasn't happened to me yet.
