Need help UEing a building.
< on 6/16/2006 2:03 PM >
Posted on Forum: UER Forum

I found a building that needs some UE in my town. It is said to have caves under it that are 3 levels deep. I was wondering if it would be better to try to find a way into the caves first or the building. The building is boarded up except for one window that looks like it might open. But there are also no trespassing signs and a fence. What should I do?

I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner!
Any problem can be licked with a case of beer and a few sticks of dynamite.

I would have said "go in the window" until I read about the "No Trespassing" signs, which probably means entering the building is technically illegal. I wouldn't do it if I were you.

But if you do go in, make sure you take a bunch of horrible pointless photos and post them in the UER LDB. And don't forget to post the address so the rest of us can easily find the building without having to work too hard.

Step 1 - scout out the building, see who/what goes on around it. Is there public transit stops nearby, do cops drive by regularly

Step 2 - pick a time of day to go, usually try at night

Step 3 - ignore all signs, they are just signs

Step 4 - climb over fence, or find a hole

Step 5 - Enter through the window if it is open/you can climb through

Step 6 - tell us about it

Of course you can just ignore all this and do it anyway you feel like.

Im suprised your asking. But to answer your question, in an indirect manner, action squad got into old caves attached to a brewery via the sewers, and the
"super slippery spraying slide of piss," as Jim insisted on calling the several block long, sloped sewer tunnel featuring high-speed sewage that sprayed up all over when you put your foot into it.

So id go for the windows. The signs are there to make you feel cool.

I lost the url, just google "super slippery spraying slide of piss," as I'm pretty sure this is the only place it shows up.

I don't know how to do that

You use the rope to climb up to the window.
You are now standing in a small room with a closed door.

You take a step and fall through the floor, and then through the floor below that. You are now in a cave.

I've heard of those Action Squaders. I bet they'd know how to get into these caves. I read that page, thanks for the link. Was that a brewery or something? And why would anyone want to walk through poop? I heard a sewer can kill you as soon as you enter from deadly gasses or some such thing. My buddy has a D6, is that big enough or do you really need the extra mass?

Before trying the window - if it's in plain view - I'd call the city and check the public records to see who owns the place. Might be worth giving the owner a call and simply asking to borrow the key for a few hours and signing a release form.

Works quite well for me for places I can't get in. Being nice does pay.

I would then pop a few manholes around the place to see what that leads you too.

Then I'd try the window.

I'd buy a little tiny shovel and find some exposed sandstone, then I'd dig some kind of hole like the french explorers do!

Make sure to pack your respirator, 5 kinds of flashlights, and some ninja throwing stars in case of attack dogs and homeless drug dealers! I'd recommend starting 4 or 5 threads on what kind of flashlights and throwing stars to buy.

Not if you role a natural 20. Keep trying, it will just fly open at some point.

Just to tell you entering any building that is not public without permission is illegal sign or not.
