What is the place? Could you climb down the bridge side there? Or I would recommend rafting/ canoeing in.

If you do plan on canoeing in, i would check for the tide. The East River can be pretty rough.....You dont want to fuck around there.

I've tried going around both sides of the sugar factory but none are accessible...my only thought is

oh yeah i wasnt like insulting you or anything, just stating that wow, im shocked, haha. usually everything in the northeast, ESPECIALLY nyc questions, is met with snarky sarcastic responses about going to danvers, lol.

i guess you're right lol Session 9 could make anyone wanna explore an abandoned asylum thought!
NYC questions are always a bit touchy i totally understand. But exploring in NYC is completely different from most places in the country or in the world for the fact due to all types of securities so sometimes i have to ask a question or 2 for advice so i don't get arrested. not to exploit. lol

I've looked at this place for awhile now, I'd recommend an aquatic or underground entrance, both wouldn't be easy. Cameras definitely exist within the perimeter, good luck and be careful.

yeah i've seen the cameras... just wasn't sure if they were there from before or actually being monitored... i live on the the other side of the bridge so i always ride my bike over to get an above view and front but never ever see any action or anyone walking around...
Thats why i've always been hopeful.

the bridge doesn't connect. Not the best climber regardless. Rafting / Canoeing would be rough the water is full of old sewers pushing more water into the river not giving it a steady river flow more like a bunch of Jacuzzi jets... i really think rigging some rope would be the easiest.

.....everybody is being nice in this thread.....????? im like, shocked. i thought i was opening a sure flame war.

I suspect it's the way hazedbms is presenting himself as opposed to the usual stuff that sets off the flame/BS/drama.

Anyway...

Let's see, canoeing in...

The quay wall is actually pretty high above mean water level. Would be best at high tide, but depending on how long you're inside, the tide could start to ebb before you get back to the canoe.

The other issue is that there is a fence along the quay. Once you breach that, then you have to cross an open area and then breach another fence to actually get in the plant.

There's some rip-rap toward the North end, but I'd about bet they're watching that fairly closely.

just trying to contribute as much as i can and explore at the same time.
Just a chill dude with a camera and dedication. I love this stuff. I've shot all types of things all over the world. But breaking into something or shooting somewhere you aren't suppose to be will always be the biggest high i get outta shooting and experiencing.

So far i've had nothing but good stuff to say about this forum and for that im grateful... i've seen some post where people are added new booty holes. Thankfully that hasn't happened to me. lol

Hope everyone had a good weekend...

Yesterday i was across the water on the other side just checking it out. Messing around with my old Polaroid sx 70. got some cool shots of the factory.

Also realized it'll be hard to get in from the water. Saw at least 3 NYPD boats go by in a matter of like an hour. Only thing i can think of is through the front... Run in get some shots and run out.

North end is still probably a good 20-40 feet from the riprap to the backside. Quay is high.

Harbor patrol might not be as big an issue during the summer. They might finally be getting accustom to regular people being in small boats around town. Before maybe 10 years ago, no one without an actual boat wanted to go near these disgusting waterways.

If it looks good, Loot it.

The problem with the East River is the UN, LGA (it's the
East River until Throgs Neck) and 3 power plants. Hence why it's heavily patrolled.

Seeing people canoeing in the Gowanus Canal or Newtown Creek is a sight to behold.

I wonder if there's still gonorrhea growing in the Gowanus Canal.

I seem to recall someone talking about trying to base jump off the bridge into the plant, repack the parachute and base jump off the plant. Maybe it was just idle talk and not concrete plans. Some friend of MSS I think.

It's not terribly difficult to get around the fence into the site. You certainly don't need a boat. This doesn't help much with getting into the actual building(s) though.

This should be used as the prime example on how a, "Advice" thread should be stated and responded to. I am amazed as well

The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark.
