that would be awesome. I'm sure it has changed a lot since you left, A.C.Warton has this "Fight on Blight" program that is ruining (improving technically i guess) the city.

Nice! Keep me in the loop and I look forward to hearing about Saturday. Be careful and all that stuff.

I left right before Katrina and from what I can gather from friends who still live downtown, that seems to be when DT began the descent of the wave it was riding to become a great place to live and socialize. I would like to think it could get back to that.

just to put some perspective on this. i think he is referring to the bigotry you tend to portray in your posts. you seems to promote how you and your crew know everything about everything in Memphis. it's great that you spend time exploring and really enjoy draining. But the in some peoples opinion the "pictures for proof" thing is bothersome. some people that explore do it with artistic intent. some do it for fun. when you choose to tell us about these adventures and refuse to believe that others do these things too and have the same amount of fun as you and your friends, it gets under peoples skin.

now we openly invite you to join along on our meet up saturday, so please tag along if you would like. we would also enjoy participating in your website if only you were more open to other peoples exploring perspectives. but until you do people will not react to your website in the positive way you would like.

Let it be clear we are open to other's perspectives and want to see what you guys have been up to. Would like to see a site or gallery in flckr or something. Sometimes things are hard to interpret online because you aren't able to see body language and tone of voice. I think there has been a misunderstanding and we never meant to portray any type of bigotry or to imply we know "everything" about memphis. In fact we consult a couple of different memphis historians and have connections to the university of memphis history department to get our information since we don't know it all but we do like to share what we learn on our site and on here. Again we are sorry if we offended anyone that was not our intention.

If you have no intention of joining this group for exploring then why even post in this thread? I don't understand that logic. I am sure they will take no offense to you only exploring with your group, but the whole premise of this thread was to meet other UER members and share in a common goal. Just saying it doesn't make sense to me.

I guess our point was to share stories and pictures rather than the actual adventures themselves. We have different times we go and we have our methods and system of doing things, not to say ours is better than yours, its just the way we like to do things but I do like seeing pics that other teams have taken. Please post some

I am not saying you are obligated in any way to explore with other members of the site since you have a group that you are comfortable with. But I think their point is that you come on threads and "pimp" your site in practically every post. I might suggest you put the site link in your profile tag. Most every one that has interest in Memphis for exploring is aware of your site from the other post you have made.

You really should reconsider your stance on meeting up with others though. Throughout the years I have met and explored with some pretty amazing people that have become my very best friends in life outside of exploring as well. It just seems a shame to shut out possibilities of having a good time with others doing something you all share an interest in.

The reason for posting the link to our site is because its much easier to do so than to post a ton of pictures on a discussion board. When we explore a new site we put up the pics on our site and then post the link on here. You are not obligated to click on the link. I think it is cleaner than flooding the board with pictures. Its no different from someone that post a link to their urbanex flckr album which I have seen people do. I do think you make a few good points in your last post about meeting up with others. I see both good and bad to that but we will continue to be exclusive and just share photos of our explores we hope you guys do to.

Opheliaism said it best. I think the best part about exploring is sharing the experience with others. I like going with my own crew too, but we also like to bring new people along and take them to places we know are safe and they can have a good time exploring. UE isnt about being a badass its about seeing what others have forgotten about and discovering hidden beauty. I know my "crew" would love to meet your "crew" since we do live in the same city. Besides sharing information and strategies would be a great way to further discover Memphis and make new friends.

I appreciate that you have a website dedicated to Memphis and your pictures did very much inspire me to explore the Sterick, but you dont have to hijack threads just to post a link.

You miss the whole point of this site. Like I said, you would do well to put your link in your profile tag. As to sharing them on these boards....some people don't click links. And that is kind of the point of this site, to share explorations on here and be a community. I realize people do post their sites such as flickr, but they also share some of what they have done on UER and usually say more can be seen at "link".

At this point this thread should really be left to stay on topic of the meeting on Saturday, with all due respect.

I just typed out a really long nasty-gram but thought I should delete the nasty and simply say:

I'll be there on Saturday, and I hope to see some new faces.

You should come out and be cool, maybe show us some things, we show you some things, share and share alike, etc. else maybe we can just let this descend into gang warfare, in that case I call dibs on red bandanas.

lol, that is exactly what I didn't want to happen. Hope you guys don't view us as a rival group just because we have chosen to be exclusive. We just have tight group of people that already is a nice amount of people to be trying to get in and out of places. A while back I helped someone figure out how to get into Sterick and later found out they took 10 people at one time. If you guys know the entrance I am talking about then you know this would have probably taken them about 30 minutes to get 10 people through there. I think this is why that entrance is no more and I blame myself for that in that I gave too much info and made it too easy and it became common knowledge. People started leaving evidence there that explorers were coming and going on a regular basis and so they sealed it up. I hate that so much because it was a awesome POE. Just have to be careful how many people know how to get in some of these places or it becomes less historic. I won't make that mistake again. At least we all got to see it before that happened.
