wow!!!!! that place is truly awesome you guys. great find! alice.. all of your pics of the skates are really cool. Its a gem when you find a place in such good condition with so many remanents left behind. Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.

madcap your photos are awesome! I really like how you were able to capture the sign in the first one. All of your locker LED shots turned out fantastic! But I have to say, my favorite from this set is the Cal colors in the locker room with the helmet on the wall. The one from the front rather than the side. Love it! Oh, and I like the last group shot because you can see my tattoo. FINALLY! "How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Good find, looks like you guys always have a lot of fun! Thanks for the history as well. To fail in what you've yet to achieve is more the spirit of exploration than to make no attempt at all. -Neil deGrasse Tyson

Great job with this--last time I went inside it was to take my kids skating there so sad to see it now. Supposedly they want to turn this place into a big box sporting goods store.
I knew it was doomed when I saw the hearse outside...

good write up! i was gonna do one but when i went i only had a cellphone camera and when i went back everything was all locked up. i used to play for the berkeley bulldogs and im still in one of the pictures hanging on the wall above where the ice skates were rented out =) brought back so many memories going there, wish it would be iceland again and not a stupid sports store.
