Actually, I'm not doing anything. The pride star has been on the board pretty much since the stars were first coded, and up until Knowledge arrived, nobody seemed to have a problem with it (as in, nobody posted a thread complaining about it).
Since then, I have not really dont anything... so I don't understand what you mean by "while i do something that is injurious to the community"

The pride issue is one that I personally feel strongly about. I personally feel that the icon should be there.
The fact that you want it removed is fine... but I've decided I want it to stay. Since this is my decision, that should be the end of the issue.
The icon in itself does not discriminate against any form of group or culture. All you can say really is that the lack of any OTHER icons fails to represent other cultures.

Now I will say that I don't think the "Pride" star has a place on this forum, and I voted to have it removed, but I also don't see why a small icon is such a big issue. It's a freaking icon on an online forum, and it doesn't matter to a hill of beans. This website is nothing more than a form of communication and not a political heirarchy. It's a shame that this was brought up after it was specifically asked to be omitted from this thread.

Just because someone asks, does not mean we should comply. Especially when it's of importance to some people.
Furthermore, I don't give one ounce of shit about the star. It's Av's steadfast commitment to discriminating that I take issue with.
And while on the surface, this site looks like nothing more than a "form of communication', the reality is whenever there is a community of like-minded individuals, whether online or not, political issues will ALWAYS arise.

You just hit the nail on the head right there. It's Av's site, and he can do what he likes. Really that's all it comes down to. He's good enough to listen to suggestion and implement many of them, but when it comes down to it, it's his site, his server, and his call.
EDIT: When I mentioned the previous quote, I meant to include that just because you're asking for the star, does not mean he has to give it to you. The gay pride star is important to him, as well as many other members.

Of course. I for one don't expect Av to back down here, but he should be aware that there are others on here that feel just as passionate about this issue as he does.
