The picture with the ridiculous looking ladder that is hanging from a man hole, is the way Geneboy and I got out today when we took our trip down there. We were quite surprised to see where we popped up at. Hahah... and the fact that the ladder didn't completely give way.

I didn't even attempt to climb that thing. lol

Where does it come up?

Yup These are some pictures from a recent trip with SnipeHunter. It was so nice in the tunnels the temperature was like 50 compared to the 80 that it was outside. What a way to cool off. That ladder certainly was suspect. Turns out it's mighty sturdy.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. I've been in quite a few Titan 2's but never a Titan one. Looks fun.

Thanks! Just got D90 recently and was experimenting with long exposure down there. How do the Titan 2's compare in looks to these Titan I's?

Wow, i swear people always find a way to get hurt or in trouble somehow. I had no idea people had died in these things, though i guess i could imagine how carelessness might end that way. Nice find!

I think it was about half way down the long hallway that leads to the two antenna silos.

@geneboy I dunno...the workers that were killed were not looking for trouble, and other articles describe other workers having to leap into safety nets when the accident, workplace accident, happened. And as for the 1972 "explorers", man, it is HIDEOUS to imagine having a huge door automatically mash you in a small space. If it weren't for the horror they endured.......etc. Those guys are prolly still around Denver telling this awful tale.

Ya, nah i wasn't suggesting the workers were looking for trouble. That was primarily directed at the "explorers".

I mean thats part of the challenge and the rush. I mean like anything no risk no reward. Thats why with many of these places you need to take extreme caution where ever you go. I mean in some of these cases it sounds like a lot of bad luck!

Well forgive me for not remembering the exact location that a particular air vent was located. The air vent is above a long hallway, and it comes up about 50 yards from the entrance in the little valley. Sheesh.

I've actually scouted this one twice I believe. I've been thinking of going inside soon, though this article is awfully ominous.

I remember when Dan wrote that. He tried to explore earlier in the day last July with only a small mag light. Said he couldn't see further than a couple of feet. We went back later that night with a much larger light source ;)

I remember those little guys! I stood them all up last time I was there, someone must have been there in between our trips.

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the colors high.
Heave ho,
thieves and beggars,
never shall we die.
