I noticed this place last week driving home from the lake. I had some free time this aft so head out to take a closer look. If you are a history buff into personal artifacts than this place is for you! I only spent 20 mins inside as the smell was pretty bad. I shoot Olympus and it blows in low light so my fave shots are the exteriors.

The coleman stove............ worth the trip alone.

There is something haunting about that bedroom with the old TRS-80 computer fully set-up, vandalism free, and looking like it was someone's gaming centre from back in the 1970's. It's as if time stood still for three decades (or two).

It's rather sad to read the note on the door too, as the treasure hunters seem to have already found it.

I know, my wife and I almost didn't go in from the note alone. We never touch anything but the familys concern was upsetting.

The antenna was nuts!! I never climbed it but the house was full of certificates on the wall that had to do with radio awards so maybe related?

Yeah the grass is definetely not cut. It was waist deep in the back of the property. The front looks cut from the shots I posted..... weird

Great location and nice pics... I think that note would make me debate entering too, definitely distressing, I feel for the family....

Very creepily cool find! I like the armchair in the dark, very ominous.

What a cool find !! I could spend a day just taking pics of what's left. That note is crazy, I would be taken aback by that as well. Although I took it differently, I read it as if it were written to another family member who cleaned out what they wanted. Either way very sad. Awesome set !! I would love to see this one for sure. Great work photocbear !!

when my wife and i where there (small world), we noticed that by the back door there was a pane of glass missing from the window right beside the door latch, ans some caution tape right beside the door on the right. maybe something went badly here at some point.

Those are some amazing pictures...Unfortunately I have yet to find a house seemingly as old as this one (that is still standing that is). Most of the places I have visited have been mid 80's to early 90's, so anything in said places are generally items that aren't so antique.

You must be extremely proud of this find. As for the note on the door, it almost places the house as a momento to a family member who still visits it periodically. At least that's how it presents itself in my eyes. Very unfortunate that some people can take things without considering the possible non-material value they could possess to someone else.

99% of the time we tromp through someone's old home, poking through their memories and imagining what life was like for the persons who lived there.

With the photo of the hat and the ham radio callsign, I was able to pull up a little information on who (presumably) lived in this house.

The photograph below was taken in 1978. I was going to add that Lloyd would most likely be deceased by now, but he passed away only recently - which probably explains the home's relatively undisturbed condition. The 'souveneir collectors' and asshat kids haven't discovered it yet.

I am impressed with your detective work!!! The shot of the class in my first series is the Graduating Class of Chem Eng U of T 1948 with Mr. Lloyd in there. Thanks for posting this info - makes the set mean a ton more now.
