99% of the time we tromp through someone's old home, poking through their memories and imagining what life was like for the persons who lived there.

With the photo of the hat and the ham radio callsign, I was able to pull up a little information on who (presumably) lived in this house.

The photograph below was taken in 1978. I was going to add that Lloyd would most likely be deceased by now, but he passed away only recently - which probably explains the home's relatively undisturbed condition. The 'souveneir collectors' and asshat kids haven't discovered it yet.

Lloyd Ferns

Incredible tracking I'd say May I call you Sherlock?? (only joking) Definately quite sad that said man passed and all his things left to whatever comes.

Photocbear I love your photos !! Fantastic journey now with a face and a name..

You probably posted these pictures from at home, by why waste time? I would have uploaded from that perfectly good computer sitting in the bedroom.. it might not be highspeed but its not in my nature to complain ..

This house is incredible, as is the detective work. I would be tempted to contact the family and ask if they would like a full-time, live-in caretaker who would clean up the house and preserve it as it is. I'd love to see the furniture and electronics kept as they were in the man's lifetime, almost as a museum.

Cheers

So I had some time to kill tonight so guess where I went?? Funny thing is the grass had been cut from my Sunday visit.

As for the antenna, I found a license on the wall for a radio station that had the house address on it. Shot never turned out so will re-shoot next visit. I also confirmed from more findings that it was indeed John Lloyd Ferns who lived in this place. Oh I am obsessed with this find - thank goodness it is 15 mins from home LOL

If Mr. Ferns can read this post from the great beyond, and I'm pretty sure that he can, I hope he realizes that he has left a U.E. paradise that all of us, especially photocbear, are thankful for. And that we mean no disrespect rummaging through your personal belongings, but instead leave us enlightened and inspired to see that there are still some people left in this world who truly loved what they did for a living. And like they say, if you can figure that out, you'll never work a day in your life.

Thank you, photocbear for an awesome find!

Thank you, Mr. Ferns for letting us enjoy.

Remember: Wherever you go, there you are.

It's not that hard to track down the person who lived in the house, just had to Google what was on the old ball cap and remember that the one photo did say Eng. graduating class UofT. ;)

But fascinating nonetheless.
