I'm in the Stoney Creek area. Not so note worthy for its large abandonment (lots of houses), but there are a lot of industrial sorts of complexes worth looking at.

If anyone is into that kind of stuff, drop me a line

I'm always up for industrial stuff. We just hit up a set of greenhouses abandoned sometime in the early 80s I think, but there was still hydro oddly enough. Also, Edible Oils was quite interesting. Lots of pipes and valves - Very cool. I'll be posting pics shortly. So, yeah. If you want to meet up, just give me a date and time. I'll do my best.

Sounds pretty good. The best time would probably be the weekend, Saturday night. Not only do I have no work, it is the best time to go to these places. Saturday Nights they are stark dead.

Let me know if that works with you, this weekend or next.

Yah, that's usually how it works.

Either way, I'm down. lol

Was that pic taken in Gunge? That image looks quite familiar. Also, LOL @ the photo.

and Mindloop, I'm down for next weekend. Sorry I didn't get back to you until today, I was at the Toronto meet anyways. Wouldn't have been able to make this Saturday. I didn't get back into my cumphy bed until 2:30 this morning, at which point I decided to download a photoshop torrent. Vuse started randomly crashing on me, so instead of sleeping I tried to fix it.

Read on if you are a computer geek. . .

I played around with my Nvidia firewall settings, thinking that had something to do with it, as I was getting a Nvidia firewall error message. I turned on FirstPacket giving Vuse top priority. Vuse still crashed, but now i couldn't access my WAN at all. At this point it was 4:00 AM and I was just too tired.

Didn't figure out until this afternoon when i woke up that when Vuse is run through a Duo or Quad core processor, it tried to use all four(in my case) at once. So i changed the affinity to a single CPU and PRESTO... Vuse worked like a charm. Still no WAN though.

Apparently when i changed my firewall settings to give Vuse top priority the firewall reserved all WAN access for Vuse while it was running. What a nightmare i created for myself. . . all because i was going on no sleep, been up for 16 hours, and was impatient.

Fun though!

Okay, I understand "Myself, flashlights, tripod, camera, batteries, gloves, and flooded basement"... But boots and a respirator? Sounds like one HELL of a night if you ask me

In other news.

I just got back from some scouting/biking and my tracks were directed towards a group of people with some really nice cars drifting through the massive corridors of some industrial complex. Was really something amazing and intense. I had heard the whines of a turbo and squealing tires and noticed some guy going around a corner sideways at 90km/h. They were all quite friendly and asked me to take pictures of them drifting.

For me, this was better than where I was headed. Some of the shit that happens here is pretty awesome sometimes. More incentive for people to come explore Stoner's Creek ;)

Btw, SCARR - Nvidia Firewall? Typo? I'm confused.

No typo. My motherboards network chipset is Nvidia aparently. OR... i have some crazy driver installed. Swear to Jeebus I was configuring a firewall in a window whose title was "Nvidia Firewall Setup" Maybe it was just the lack of sleep and case of redbull i had. That combined with the pitcher of beer that was FAR more that 2.5 pints like in Burlington.

That would explain why i had so many problems...

also, OMFG DRIFTING! Send me some pics.

How's that for a flooded basement? Gotta love the LIVE junction box hanging just above the water.

and it only took me 7 or 8 tries to figure out how to properly post a picture. I'm so proud.

I was there Saturday, and while that basement was flooded up to about your knees, the basement tams was referring to is about 2 or 3 floors under water... I'd prefer the latter

Tamara, if you're thinking about the seasonal skating basement that I think you are talking about, you are going to need more than boots. I was there last at the end of April with big boots, and a raging desire to check the basement out. But to my dismay, the water was about 6 inches higher than my books.

long story short... waders, ya need some waders.
