my dad is a bit... off the falls here is actually still in Elizabethtown/New Russia. Keene doesn't start until you head west on NY 73 from Malfunction Junction. couple of people have been killed in this spot. there's a nasty little undercurrent at the bottom of the falls when the water is faster. Also, that water is COLD. There is a pool further up, on Route 73, which is a little better to swim at. I am honestly surprised that the state/county hasn't put an end to swimming here. \ if had kept going south on US 9, you would've gotten to Malfunction Junction, then the Interstate and the road to where is live is just past the Interstate.

Youre right, that is New Russia-Elizabethtown area. I love that intersection, I tell everyone it must have been an experiment to see if you can join three 55MPH roads with no stop signs or traffic lights, so they put it in the middle of no where. A nice video if you havent seen it before: http://www.youtube...atch?v=e67Gp0ImYyw There is a chain link fence at that waterfall, but its flattened down and you can walk right over it. I cant imagine swimming close to that waterfall either, I've seen it under high water flow and its quite sketchy. I took the road back through Mineville, then the ferry across Champlain on the way back. Always a nice ride through there, I have to stare at the pile of tailings in Mineville...it calls my name, but I know better.

| | | Ok... I did NOT take this photo, but some of you may already know that it's a Spencer Tunic. BUT, I am in it. Everyone that participated received a free 8x10. Some of you may also know that this is in Buffalo Central Terminal, 2004.
